Biography

Alessandro Chiantoni was born in Alzano Lombardo on 19 November 1996. After studying piano at the G. Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo, he graduated with full marks in Organ and Organo Composition. Titular organist of the church of Sant'Anna in Bergamo, artistic director of the Primavera dell'Organo committee and of the organ auditions of the Dominican convent of San Bartolomeo in Bergamo, he participates, on behalf of the international piano festival of Bergamo and Brescia, in the performance complete of Beethoven's thirty-two piano sonatas. On the occasion of the third edition of the international composition competition "Vittorio Fellegara" he was invited to hold the closing concert held in Bergamo in the prestigious "Alfredo Piatti" hall.

He regularly performs for national and international events, dedicating himself to both the repertoire and improvisation and playing on prestigious instruments including the large Cavaillé-Coll organ of the abbey church of Saint-Ouen in Rouen and the large Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Eglise Saint-Godard also in Rouen.

He performs in various Italian cities, including Bergamo (Cathedral of S. Alessandro Martire), Merano (Duomo), Modena, Turin, Pesaro, Trento, Villasanta (International Organ Festival), Udine, Iseo, Rome. In 2021 he was the winner of the first "Rotary Club Bergamo Città Alta" prize. He records for the “M&M Production” label (Widor, Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Chiantoni), for “Da Vinci Publishing” (Bach, Mendelssohn, Reger, Liszt), for “Classica live” (Improvisations) and a further album is being produced for “M&M Production” entirely dedicated to the music of J. S. Bach.

He was recently appointed organist in residence of the "Il cimento armonico" orchestra of Padua, with which he will perform Handel concerts in 2024, the Rheimberger concert of Op. 117 n.2 and Respighi's Suite in G for organ and orchestra.

He perfected his skills with prestigious internationally renowned organists, in particular with Jean Guillou, Jean-Baptiste Monnot, Daniel Roth, Ben Van Oosten, Olivier Latry, Ludgher Lohmann, Sarah Kim, Francesco Finotti, Yanka Hekimova, Simone Vebber and Frédéric Desenclos. He then perfected himself in the art of improvisation with Stefano Rattini.

As a composer he writes works for solo organ, chamber ensembles and dedicates himself to transcription; His interests also lead him to the organ building sector, following, as a designer, the construction of new organs.
